People of the Book - Geraldine Brooks

Jan. 31 - 2:00pm - Sandwich High School. Geraldine Brooks, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of March, talks about the writing of her most recent novel, People of the Book. The story traces the journey of the Sarajevo Haggadah from 15th century Spain to the ruins of Sarajevo in the 1990’s.

Erika-San - Allen Say

Feb. 28 - 2:00pm - Sandwich High School. Caldecott Medal-winning author/illustrator Allen Say shares the background story of his latest picture book Erika-San. The story relates an American girl’s life-long fascination with Japan and its culture. Discussion moderated by Mindy Todd, host of "The Point" on WCAI, the Cape and Islands NPR station.
